Offaly Association in Dublin to host annual GAA golf classic

The Offaly Association in Dublin are making the final plans for one of their biggest events of the year, an annual golf classic to raise funds for Offaly GAA.

The Association has raised considerable funds for Offaly GAA in recent years and have appealed for support again.

The exiles have a powerful GAA ethos and this year's classic takes place in Palmerstown House Estate Golf Club, Naas on Thursday and Friday, September 3 and 4.

A strong committee has been established to oversee the golf classic, including former Offaly players Richie Connor, Joachim Kelly and Roy Malone.

The tee has been reserved from 9am to 3pm and the format is a four person scramble. Teams of four cost €500 and must include two players with Golf Ireland handicaps.

The fee includes a three course meal, a burger on the ninth hole and excellent prizes.

Tee box sponsorship is also available at €100.

To support the golf classic, contact: offalyassocdubgolfclassic@gmail.com.

Early booking is advised and tee times can also be reserved by contacting Fintan Lalor on 087 2306085, Liam Fleury on 0876169192 or Ray Flannery on 0862456386.

All proceeds from the golf classic go towards the promotion and development of gaelic games in Offaly.
