Offaly club chosen to play at Croke Park finals day

The Under-12s from St Broughan's GAA Club in Offaly will get the experience of a lifetime after its selection to play at Croke Park on TG4 All-Ireland Finals day.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association has announced a list of 12 clubs who will feature on the day (Sunday, August 2) with the lucky teams chosen from a large number of entries. The team's will participate in half-time exhibition games on the day.

Applications closed recently and entries were open to U12 and Sports Direct 'Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others' teams only.

Following a detailed study of submissions, 12 clubs representing eleven counties have been handed the chance to fulfil a dream by gracing the hallowed turf.

Oola (Limerick), St John’s (Sligo), St Broughan's (Offaly), Belcoo O’Rahillys (Fermanagh), Aherlow (Tipperary) and Ballinascreen (Derry) are the six U12 teams selected.

They will be joined at Croke Park by Sports Direct 'Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others' clubs Wolfe Tones na Sionna (Clare), Railyard (Kilkenny), Naomh Séamas (Antrim), Moorefield (Kildare), Truagh (Monaghan) and Caltra Cuans (Galway).

The six TG4 All-Ireland finalists will be confirmed over the next two weekends, with the intermediate and junior semi-finals down for decision next Sunday, July 12, followed by the senior semi-finals on Saturday, July 18.
