Local players brought back together in FAI Cup action

Offaly's Killeigh Football Club has expressed pride after a Women's Under-17 FAI Cup match brought three of its finest recent prospects back together on the playing pitch.

Leah Stack and sisters Emma and Isabel Mooney shared the pitch as Athlone Town FC hosted Bohemians FC at Athlone Town Stadium. Both Mooney sisters were representing the home side with Leah Stack turning-out for Bohemians. It was the first time for all three players to perform on the same pitch since representing Killeigh at Under-14 level. Bohemians won the match, 2-0.

In an online post, Killeigh FC said: 'The result was secondary to seeing three of our former players competing against each other at such a high level. We are incredibly proud to see Leah, Emma and Isabel continue to represent themselves, their families and their clubs with distinction. Best of luck to all three girls for the rest of the season.'
