Tullamore students launch fundraiser to support inclusive education

Students, staff, and community volunteers from National Learning Network (NLN) Tullamore will take to the streets for their annual Church Gate Collection, at the Church of the Assumption, on Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9.

The fundraiser will enhance the classroom and recreational resources provided to the many students attending the Offaly-based college who require additional support with their education, including student with disabilities, autism, social anxiety, and mental health challenges.

Part of the Rehab Group, NLN Tullamore provides inclusive, supportive training courses to local people who face barriers to learning or employment.

Speaking ahead of the fundraiser, NLN Area Manager, Cian Doyle, said: “What we offer in NLN is more than training and qualifications, it’s about building bright futures. We put each student at the heart of the learning journey, with a truly holistic approach that helps them to thrive.”

“This local community event is a key opportunity for us to raise funds while spreading the word about the services we offer here in Offaly. Every euro raised stays local, directly supporting our centre. The funds will help us run community wellness activities and innovative student integration programmes that help our students build confidence, learn new skills, and find meaningful work.”
