'Little Wishes' fundraising walk in Edenderry on Saturday
Edenderry Tidy Towns will host a 5km walk on Saturday, August 1, in aid of 'Little Wishes', the volunteer-run charity that provides surprise treats and grants simple wishes to people in the local area who are affected by cancer.
Starting at 2pm, the greenway walk will start at the harbour and will continue towards the Downshire Bridge before returning by the pitch and putt course and finishing at the cabin beside the castle.
The fundraising occasion will also feature a bouncy castle for children, an ice cream van, with refreshments supplied post walk in the cabin.
The generosity of the people in Edenderry has kept the 'Little Wishes' fund going since October 2012.
The group uses local businesses to ensure the money raised in Edenderry goes back into the local community.
Local Cllr and Group PRO Noel Cribbin has called on the local community to come out in support of the community walk.
"We look for your support for this community fundraising walk on behalf of 'Little Wishes', who do so much for cancer patients in our local area," Cllr Cribbin said.
