Community spirit at Tullamore Credit Union junior members day

Tullamore Credit Union hosted its annual Junior Members’ Day in Leah Victoria Park on Saturday, July 25, welcoming over 200 members and their families for a day full of fun, entertainment and activities. The event was officially opened by DCEO Caroline Collins Murphy and master of ceremonies was Member Engagement Controller Caitriona Lawlor.

Members enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with music provided by DJ Alex, along with plenty of surprises and family-friendly entertainment.

While the weather was a little unsettled at the beginning of the event, the skies soon cleared, allowing everyone to make the most of a fantastic day of fun and celebration.

Junior members enjoyed a wide variety of attractions throughout the day, including face painting, bungee jumping, an obstacle course and a popular sweet shop.

One of the highlights was the much-anticipated Talent Show, which showcased the incredible abilities of both the Under 8 and Over 8 age categories. Performances included singing, dancing, tin whistle playing and many other impressive acts, with participants demonstrating great confidence and talent. As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiative, Tullamore Credit Union hosted its first-ever Book Sale this year. which was a great success, and proceeds raised were donated to the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, supporting local families in our community.

The event was made even more memorable thanks to a number of special guests. Characters from the Tullamore Panto team brought plenty of laughter and excitement, while Tullamore Credit Union’s newest ambassadors, Rallycross Championship driver Cody Mahon and Sami Tahraoui, captain of the Ireland FootGolf Team, were on hand to meet families and chat with attendees. Cody’s rally car proved to be a major attraction for motorsport fans of all ages. Adding to the excitement were some very special four-legged guests. The alpacas were a huge hit with children, who enjoyed meeting them, taking photographs and spending time with these friendly animals.

Tullamore Credit Union was also pleased to welcome representatives from the Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service and An Garda Síochána, who brought along their vehicles and equipment. Children had the opportunity to explore the vehicles, meet emergency service personnel and learn more about the important work they carry out every day.

Junior Members’ Day is an annual event organised exclusively for Tullamore Credit Union Junior Members and continues to be one of the highlights of the Credit Union calendar. The day reflects the Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to supporting young members and creating positive experiences for local families.
