Local boy (5) completes his 25th Mountlucas parkrun
Five-year-old Ruben completed his 25th parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend.
He was joined by his proud parents, and siblings Pearl and Bruce, as well as his Nanny Fionnuala, to cheer him across the finish line, along with friends and other participants.
Ruben completed his first parkrun in March 2025 and has been attending regularly since then.
Speaking to Ruben after the event he said: "Thanks everybody who came! And thanks to Mam for the cake!"
Ruben's mother, Mairéad Scally, had made him a special cake to mark the occasion which was shared with other parkrun participants.
Another milestone achieved on the day was by Clíona Mulroy who completed her 25th parkrun.
Two milestones were also achieved the previous week when Mairéad Walsh completed her 150th parkrun and Geraldine Mann completed her 50th parkrun.
Speaking after achieving her milestone, Mairéad said: "I am delighted to have completed my 150th parkrun. I have enjoyed how inclusive, friendly and welcoming each one has been."
Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.
