Gardai seize large herbal cannabis haul in Offaly

Some 5.5 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized in Offaly yesterday (Tuesday) as part a joint operation.

The raid was carried out by Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Offaly Divisional Drug Unit approximately 5.5 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized in County Offaly.

A further 2 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized by An Garda Síochána in a follow-up search.

One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in a Garda Station in Offaly

Investigations are ongoing.
