Clodagh is volunteer of the month!

Offaly County Council's Community & Culture Volunteer of the Month for July was Clodagh Beirne.

Clodagh Beirne is a valued volunteer with the Nursery Programme in Ferbane, a joint initiative of Naomh Ciarán Ladies Gaelic Football Club and Ferbane GAA Football Club. Her dedication, reliability, and enthusiasm have made a significant contribution to the success of the programme.

A regular presence at every nursery session, Clodagh is known for arriving early to help prepare activities and ensure everything is ready for participants. She consistently shows initiative, takes responsibility, and helps create a welcoming, organised, and enjoyable environment for children and families alike.

An enthusiastic and capable coach, Clodagh brings energy and positivity to each session. Through years of volunteering, she has developed impressive coaching skills and has become a knowledgeable and inspiring role model for young players.

Her commitment extends far beyond expectations. Clodagh has even adjusted her work schedule on occasion to ensure she could continue supporting nursery sessions, demonstrating the importance she places on the programme and the children involved.

With her leadership, organisation, time-management skills, and unwavering commitment, Clodagh embodies the spirit of volunteerism and community involvement. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and selflessness make her a truly deserving recipient of recognition as Volunteer of the Month.

As 2026 has been declared International Volunteer Year, each month in 2026 Offaly County Council will shine a spotlight on a member of the community who volunteers their time to make a difference in their community.
