Free ‘visual stories’ heritage event in Killeigh

An exhibition exploring the cultural heritage of Killeigh will take place this weekend as part of National Heritage Week.

The exhibition is taking place in Killeigh Community Centre (Eircode: R35V446) this Sunday, August 16, between 12.15pm and 3.45pm.

It will feature nine small sculptural artworks created by local residents and inspired by Killeigh's unique cultural heritage.

The exhibition emerged from the eight-week 'Killeigh Told Through Visual Stories' programme which took place at the community centre earlier this year.

The project was led by artist Teresa Doyle in partnership with Killeigh Community Centre Development Committee, and was funded by the Offaly County Council Creative Ireland programme.

Locals and visitors are invited to come along on the day to discover the artworks and celebrate Killeigh's rich cultural heritage.
