Grehan selected for Walker Cup duty in September
Fresh from his Amateur Championship golfing success in Royal Liverpool and subsequent appearance at The Open in Royal Birkdale, Tullamore's Stuart Grehan has been selected on the Great Britain and Ireland team who will play the USA at the 51st Walker Cup in Lahinch next month.
Grehan is the sole Irish representative on the 10 player team who are hoping to regain the prized amateur golf silverware when it tees off on the County Clare gold course on September 5.
The 33-year old will play in his second successive Walker Cup following his appearance at the 50th edition of the tournament in Cypress Point, California, last September.
At last year's Walker Cup, Grehan claimed 1.5 points for the Great Britan and Ireland (GB & I) team, winning his opening day morning foursomes before halving his afternoon singles match.
The Co Louth club member is enjoying a predominantly successful 2026 season, his Amateur Championship win in June complementing his East of Ireland win earlier that month.
Grehan's Amateur Championship win earned him a place at three of golf's four major tournaments, the 2026 Open and the US Masters and US Open in 2027.
