'Live at the Marquee' continues with Derek Ryan concert
The live entertainment continues in JJ Killeen's this weekend when country music singer Derek Ryan and his band take to the 'Live at the Marquee' stage at the Shannonbridge venue on Saturday night (doors open at 8pm).
The singer is the latest in a line of musical talents to grace the marquee stage in the Offaly village during its summer season of live entertainment.
Ryan will be supported by West Cork-born singer and 2024 Glór Tire finalist Effie Neill and her band on Saturday as a night of country music awaits.
This the third year of the 'Live at the Marquee' sessions at JJ Killeen's, and its owner, Liam Fallon, said this year has been "the best yet" with an increase in numbers attending the series of live performances.
The live music takes place in a large covered marquee adjacent to JJ Killeens on Main Street, Shannonbridge, providing the "perfect venue for a lively and immersive experience".
Fallon said audience members have travelled from "across he country" and as far away as the UK to see their favourite acts on stage in Shannonbridge.
Artists such as Boyzlife, Nathan Carter, Like Combs (a Luke Combs tribute act), and the Rod Stewart Songbook have attracted large numbers to the 'Live at the Marquee' sessions recently, and Fallon said he expects Derek Ryan to prove popular when he takes to the stage this Saturday night.
"Tickets are still available for Derek's show and will also be available to buy on the door on Saturday," he added.
Another 'Live in the Marquee' date is scheduled for the Shannonbridge venue in October with the artist to perform on that date set to be announced "in due course".
Local artists also perform in the JJ Killeen's bar on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and Fallon said it's the ideal venue in which to "relax, unwind, enjoy some food and live entertainment".
Tickets for Derek Ryan's performance can be booked online from WillWeGo.com, priced €25 plus booking fee.
