Tidy Towns highlights dumping and burning of rubbish at Edenderry park

The illegal dumping and burning of rubbish at Edenderry's Blundell Park has been highlighted this week by the area's Tidy Towns committee.

The committee made the discovery of a large section of discarded and burned rubbish – including cans, beer bottles and other household materials – at the park during its weekly clean-up in the town.

'Today was a little busier than last week', the committee said on social media.

'There is still plenty to be found including a rather disappointing amount of dumped and burned rubbish that had been left in our beautiful Blundell Park.

'But rather than focus on the negatives, we want to focus on the positives. Every bag we fill, every piece of rubbish we remove and every area we leave cleaner is a small win for Edenderry', the committee added.

They continued by thanking everyone who gives up their time to 'helped make our town and surrounding areas a little bit better'.
