Offaly rents up by over 6% in last year, according to Daft.ie report

The cost of renting a home in Offaly in the second quarter of 2026 was on average 6.1% higher than it was a year earlier, according to a new report.

Figures from the Daft.ie sales report for the second quarter of this year show that the Offaly rental market continued to experience rising prices across most property types.

The data shows a typical open-market rent of a three-bedroom house in the county was €1,802.

There is a marked increase in the cost of renting a two bedroom apartment in the county, the average price being €1,578, a rise of 9.4%.

At the higher end, a four bedroom house is listed at an average market rent of €2,156, an increase of 12.8% from the same period in 2025.

Nationally, market rents rose by 1.4% between March and June, according to the latest report. This is a significant slowdown from the record 4.4% increase in the first quarter and slightly below the average quarterly increase seen over the last decade.
