Tullamore Harriers reflect on BnM half marathon success

Tullamore Harriers AC has expressed its pride following the club's hosting of the annual BnM half marathon in the town on Saturday morning.

The club welcomed more than 2,000 people through its gates over the course of the morning, "creating a wonderful atmosphere that never wavered".

In a social media post, the club said the event was "hugely successful", with just under 1,200 athletes crossing the finish line.

The winner of the men's race was Jake O’Regan, St John’s AC, in a time of 1:05:23. His finishing time was 26 seconds faster than the previous record set by Ryan Creech of Leevale AC.

Wayne Waldron, Donore Harriers AC, claimed second place in a time of 1:08:55, while third place went to Jaakko Jarvi, with a time of 1:09:35.

Menawhile, the first woman to cross the finishing line was Maebh Brannigan, Galway City Harriers, in a time of 1:16:05.

Aislinn Hogan, Ballyskenach AC, crossed the line in a time of 1:19:07 to claim second place, while Mullingar Harriers AC runner, Niamh McEngegart claimed the third podium place with a time of 1:23:08.

"Congratulations to all our individual medallists, age-category winners and teams, and of course to every athlete who crossed that finish line today.
