Warm welcome for French students at Tullamore College
News From The Schools: Tullamore College
Tullamore College has wished a warm "Bienvenue" to the school's 2026 French individual exchange students Emilien, Jules, Gabriel, Maddly, Tiphanie and Melissa.
The group hosted Tullamore College students last May, and will now spend four weeks here in return.
Tullamore College said Erasmus students always prove a great addition to its school life and community. The six French students are now looking forward to getting immersed in school-life in Ireland.
The school thanked David Korowitz, Grace Lloyd, Alison Judge, Cillian Henchy Quigley, Sarah Guinan, Katie Guinan, Wyatt Winston and their families for hosting, and thanked Ms Rougerie for coordinating the programme.
Gaisce presentation
On Tuesday, September 8, Tullamore College was delighted to welcome Gaisce Development Officer Mary Yore as guest speaker to speak to the Transition Year group and 5HD about completing the Bronze Gaisce Challenge.
The students learned about the four challenge areas of the President's Award: physical, skill, community and adventure, and suitable activities which can be used for each. In the coming weeks, students will meet their President Award Leaders and get started on their Gaisce Challenge.
Lilliput Outing
As part of their first week in Tullamore College, all first year students went on a trip to Lilliput Adventure Centre to participate in a variety of team-building activities from bog jumping, rock climbing to capture the flag and kayaking.
The school thanked all the staff at Lilliput for their excellent work. Thanks were also extended to their year head Ms Dunstan and all the first year tutors: Mr Connell, Ms Doolan, Ms Byrne, Ms Underwood, Ms Butler, Ms Harkin and all the SNAs, Ms Lawless, Ms Conlon, Ms Caulfield, Ms Corcoran and Ms Ruane.
Year Head Ms Dunstan received a special thank you for organising the trip.
