Esker Arts to stage Tony Award winning musical

A cast of eight actors are preparing to take to the Esker Arts stage this weekend for the first of four Clara Musical Society performances of Dear Evan Hansen.

Rehearsals are in the final stages for the Tony Award winning production which runs at the Tullamore venue from Saturday, September 19 until Tuesday, September 22.

'Dear Evan Hansen' tells the story of a socially anxious teenager searching for connection and acceptance in an increasingly complex world.

Featuring a stunning score and deeply emotional storytelling, the show has captivated audiences around the globe since its debut.

What makes 'Dear Evan Hansen' particularly important in today's society is the way it addresses themes that resonate strongly with modern audiences.

The musical explores loneliness, loss, grief and the universal desire to belong. It also examines the influence of the internet and social media on people's lives, highlighting both their power to connect individuals and the potential consequences when online narratives take on a life of their own.
