Retired Offaly farmer to feature in Virgin Media's new 'Lucky Dip' documentary

Retired Offaly farmer Seamus Farrell will feature on new Virgin Media crime documentary Joyriders: Ireland’s Lucky Dip Gang next Tuesday.

In the programme, which is set to air on Tuesday, September 29, at 9pm, Seamus recalls discovering his family’s motocross bike had been stolen and later appeared online.

“They had it actually in their kitchen, in their mother’s kitchen," he said.

This documentary deals with the M9 crash, the Lucky Dip phenomenon and the challenges facing Gardaí and the justice system in tackling youth crime.

In it Virgin Media News Crime Correspondent Paul Quinn will examine the craze which has left families devastated and raised serious questions about youth crime, policing and Ireland's criminal justice system.

The one-hour special documentary hears first-hand from victims whose lives have been profoundly affected by these crimes.

Joyriders: Ireland's Lucky Dip Gang will air on Tuesday September 29 at 9pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One.
