Event celebrating women in farming to be held in Tullamore

A major event celebrating women in agriculture will be taking place in Offaly next month.

As part of the celebrations of the International Year of the Woman Farmer, women from across Ireland are set to attend Growing Voices 2026 (a Teagasc event) on Thursday, October 15 at Tullamore Court Hotel.

The event will bring women and men from across Irish agriculture together for a day of discussion, practical learning and networking, highlighting the experiences, contribution and opportunities of women in farming.

The conference, which begins at 9am, will include a range of speakers, farmers and experts including Sophie Bell (full-time farmer and content creator); Dr Erika Valério (Gender and Agrifood expert with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations); Carina Roseingrave (International Year of the Woman Farmer Ambassador 2026); and beef farmer Teleri Thomas.

Other contributors will include Kate Curran and John Fitzgerald (Farm Family), Vanessa Kiely O’Connor (Dairy Farmer), Charlie Devaney (Teagasc Advisor), Ciara Stanley (Coppenagh House Farm), and Marion Roeleveld (Killeen Farmhouse Cheese).
