Search stood down as body of male, aged in 20s, found at Lough Ennell

The search for a missing Westmeath man has been stood down today (Tuesday) after the discovery of a body of a male, aged in his 20s, at Lough Ennell.

Gardaí confirmed the discovery of the body at Lough Ennell, today, Tuesday, September, 29.

The deceased was conveyed to Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in Tullamore Hospital, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

The local coroner has been notified and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to support the family of the deceased.
