The owners of Tullamore-based business Biasol have shared their devastation following a fire at their premises on Church Road earlier this week.
A local fire service representative told the Offaly Independent that the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
Two units from Tullamore Fire Station attended the scene on Tuesday evening, October 13, arriving at 8.12pm and leaving at 9.21pm after the blaze had been brought under control.
BiaSol, the sustainable food company, was co-founded by siblings Niamh and Ruairi Dooley. Trading as Lurgan Foods, the BiaSol brand repurposes food waste as a sustainable solution to create their food products.
In a statement shared online, Ruairi and Niamh said they have "heavy hearts" following the "difficult news".
"A fire broke out at the Biasol factory earlier this week, and we are absolutely devastated. Firstly, and most importantly, nobody was hurt.
"It has taken us a few days to share this. Partly out of sheer shock, and partly because our first priority was to speak directly with our stakeholders."
They emphasised that "this is not the end" of for BiaSol.
"We see it as a bump in the road. We've already begun making plans to keep our products on the shelves of your local shop and supermarket, on your next flight, and in your workplace.
"Five years of hard graft got us here, and we won't let it stop now. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out. Your kindness means more than we can say. We'll keep you updated as we rebuild," the company founders said.
