Transformation of Offaly family's home to be shown on RTÉ this Sunday
A building project to make an Offaly family's home suitable for its children with additional needs will be shown on this weekend's final episode of the current series of DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland.
The episode focusing on the Harte family, living in Walsh Island, will be shown on RTÉ One this Sunday, October 25, at 6.30pm.
The building project, which was carried out with strong support from the local community, was filmed at the beginning of last month.
The Hartes are raising three children with autism, including six-year-old Noah, who also has Global Developmental Delay and an intellectual disability.
Noah is non-speaking, experiences severe emotional distress, and requires constant supervision due to his limited awareness of danger.
The family bought their home with the aim of creating a safe and supportive environment for Noah.
However, ongoing structural problems and costly repairs have placed significant pressure on the family, while Noah's increasing size and complex needs have made everyday life more challenging.
On Sunday's programme, the DIY SOS team takes on the task of transforming the family home into a safe, practical and supportive space that can meet the needs of Noah and the wider family for years to come.
