Date set for 'Big Switch On' of Tullamore Christmas lights

The date has been set for 'Big Switch On' of the Tullamore Christmas lights.

Taking place on Sunday, November 22, at 6pm, in O'Connor Square, the event will mark the official beginning of the festive season in the Offaly town.

The Tullamore Christmas Festival, featuring the annual Christmas market, will take place over the same weekend in O'Connor Square, running from Friday, November 20, to Sunday, November 22.

On the Friday, the festival will take place from 12 noon to 7pm, with celebrations running from 10am to 7pm on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Organised entirely by a voluntary committee, the Tullamore Christmas Festival has grown into one of the town’s most loved annual events, attracting thousands of visitors and creating a major boost for local businesses in the run-up to Christmas.

However, the organisers are appealing to local businesses and the wider community to get behind this year’s celebrations by contributing to the Christmas Lights Fund.
