Offaly Explorer bus service returns for summer
Local Link Laois Offaly has announced the return of the Offaly Explorer Experience Bus Service for the summer.
Why not explore Ireland’s Ancient East and Hidden Heartlands attractions using the Local Link Laois Offaly bus service? The service started on June 29 and runs to the end of September, every Saturday and Sunday throughout the day giving various options to explore the 'Faithful County'.
With the Offaly Explorer Experience buses, you can hop-on hop-off across three different routes and tailor to your own sightseeing itinerary. For the more adventurous why not take in Croghan Hill or Daingean Grand Canal Adventures or enjoy a nice lunch and a stroll around Shannonbridge Marina or Birr Castle to highlight a few options.
For young adventurers, why not pick up an Offaly Passport and visit the sites to collect to your stamps. Whether you be a tourist or a local you can avail of a one-day or two-day or just a single ticket to unravel your adventures in Offaly, family tickets and group discounts available. For the month of July all passengers 18 and under will travel free on all Local Link Services, so why not get on the bus and explore?
Free Travel Pass accepted. Ticket prices start from €3.
The routes will be operated by Ger Egan, Digan Bus Hire Ltd and K Buggy Coaches on behalf of Local Link Laois Offaly with the buses on all routes being wheelchair accessible and branded Local Link. All routes cross over in Tullamore so you can hop on and off for the different routes.
Route 1 – Tullamore-Lough Boora-Shannonbridge-Clonmacnoise and return.
Route 2 – Tullamore- Clara Bog Nature Reserve-Pollagh Grand Canal Bank-Lough BooraBanagher Marina-Birr Castle and return.
Route 3 – Tullamore-Daingean Grand Canal Adventures-Croghan Hill-Mount Lucas Wind Farm-Tullamore.
Local Link Laois Offaly is funded by the National Transport Authority, under the Rural Transport Programme to promote and support local businesses and provide transport in unmet areas.
