Anti eviction protest due to get underway in tullamore

Members of the Irish Democratic Party are due to protest outside Tullamore courthouse this morning.

The party is seeking to highlight what they called the continuing onslaught on families who are being brought through the courts for the repossession of their family homes.

The Irish Democratic Party said there are 39 cases listed for Tullamore Circuit Court this morning beginning at 10.30am. The campaigners planned to be outside the court with a banner reading - ‘Stop Evictions Now - A Fair and Sustainable Solution Must be Found for Every Homeowner.’

After the protest at the courthouse, the campaigners plan to walk through Tullamore, stopping outside each of the banks.
