Offaly GAA's Grand Canal Walk on October 26

Offaly GAA and Club Faithful are delighted to announce that, after last year’s success, we will be hosting our Grand Canal Walk fundraiser on Saturday October 26.

The walk will be along the same route as last year, beginning in O’Connor Park, heading east along the Grand Canal and returning to the park where participants will receive food and refreshments on completion.

Last year’s event was a huge success and saw €10,000 raised for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

This year we are teaming up with Tullamore Hospital in a hope to raise an equally generous amount for their oncology unit who do great work to provide essential care to cancer patients. Everyone knows someone effected by cancer or has seen the hard work completed by those in the oncology unit.

We are asking people to register to walk online on our website where they will create a profile that they can share with friends and family to gather sponsorship. We are also asking those who cannot walk to go to our home page and sponsor one of our registered walkers or perhaps one of our Offaly GAA legends.

Sponsors who generously give €100 or more will be added to our ‘Sponsor’s Wall’ which will be hung in BnM O’Connor Park, Tullamore.

Funds raised will go to support all our senior county teams along with underage through the development of our training facilities.

The official launch took place in Faithful fields on Wednesday 18th September. It saw members of all senior Offaly panels including football, hurling, camogie and ladies football. Also present were the two senior managers John Maughan and Michael Fennely. It is great to have the managers and the players on board and working hard to raise huge funds.
