Free drug and alcohol awareness workshops for Edenderry
Anyone who engages with young people aged between twelve and 18 is being invited to take part in a free drug and alcohol awareness workshop being delivered in Edenderry this week and next.
Training for staff, leaders and volunteers working with young people in a community setting as well as parents and families will take place on Thursday, April 11 and Thursday, April 18 from 7pm until 9.30pm in Edenderry Community Cabin.
The training will be delivered by the Midlands Regional Drugs Education Coordinator for Foroige, the National Youth Development Organisation and Midlands Regional Drug Taskforce in partnership with the Eden Hope Project.
The training will assist those who take part in the area of drugs and alcohol education and prevention, including becoming familiar with various types of drugs, their effects and long term risks.
The workshops will focus on drug services both locally and nationally, and will reflect training that has been rolled out across the region over the last number of months to create greater awareness of substance misuse, associated risks and best practice when engaging with young people.
To book your place on the training course you can contact Carmel Daly on 09064 48947, by text or call to 086 0455013 or by email to carmel.daly@foroige.ie.
