Molly would make a lovely pet
Meet Molly, a springer spaniel collie-cross, aged between 7 and 12 months. She was found wandering in the Rhode area on November 29. No owner has yet come forward to claim her so it is expected that she will be available for re-homing within the next few days. In the words of everyone who has come in contact with her, Molly would make a lovely pet, but not every home would be suitable for her. That is because she requires plenty of exercise to soak up her boundless energies. And perhaps it is the Springer part of her parentage that makes her an incredible jumper. If she were a horse, Molly could be a Grand National winner. Beecher"s Brook would hold no terrors for her so there are few garden walls that could keep her penned in if she wanted to go for a run on her own. Happily, she is as intelligent as she is lively, happy to learn and very easy to please. Certainly she displays enough friendliness towards humans to embrace the whole population of the country. Anyone prepared to offer Molly a suitable home is invited to arrange a meeting with the OSPCA on 086 3785584. The same goes in relation to nine other dogs of various breeds and vintages that are being fostered in various parts of the county. They too are waiting for new homes. There has been a heartbreaking development in the story of Rex, one of the two injured dogs featured last week in report of what was described as a very busy Sunday for the OSPCA. The owner saw the photograph of the terrier and identified the dog as his missing pet but when he made contact the news was grim. Poor Rex passed away, while still in veterinary care.
