Local councillors attend event to mark 100 years since death of Michael Collins

Offaly Fine Gael County Councillors recently attended a commemoration event to mark the centenary of the killing of Michael Collins at Béal Na Bláth, Cork.

Former Taoiseach Enda Kenny also made an appearance at the Michael Collins Commemoration in Dublin.

A Centenary Commemoration Festival took place in Clonakilty and surrounding areas from August 14 to 22 in honour of Collins and to celebrate his achievements.

Collins was was shot and killed in an ambush by anti-Treaty forces on August, 22 1922.
