Line-up for first ever Laois Pride announced

The first ever Laois Pride parade and festival will take place on Saturday, September 17 in Portlaoise.

The day starts with a Pride Breakfast provided by the Bay Tree for community members and then an exciting colourful pride parade which will start and end at Fitzmaurice Place at 12pm.

After the pride parade celebrations continue on from 1pm-5pm in Fitzmaurice Place with a huge line-up of acts including Drag Kings and Queens, circus performers Sparkle Band, games and food trucks.

All of the day time events on the day are free to enter and family friendly.

It will be a very proud day for the county as the celebrations continue well into the evening with a ticketed Drag Show taking place in Kavanagh’s Bar that evening.

Other events happening in the lead up to the day include a Youth Pride Party, an LGBT+ Film Screening in Dunamase Theatre and Pride Parade poster making evening.
