Work underway on new Belmont area community plan

Work is underway on developing a new four-year community plan for the Belmont area.

In late 2023, a planning group was established after a public meeting to work on the development of a community plan for the Belmont area. This group is supported by Offaly Local Development Company.

The planning group has identified some initial priorities, including road safety with a focus on footpaths, traffic calming, creating networks of social inclusion/combating isolation, community enhancement (aesthetically), biodiversity and infrastructure and connectivity.

Over the coming weeks, members of the planning group will be delivering a short survey to the doors of residents in the area. Completed surveys will give further insight into the needs of the community, which will form the foundation for actions within the community plan from 2024-2028.

The planning group greatly appreciate any input from community members. This is a plan for the community, by the community. The group meets regularly in High Street Hall, with new members always welcome.
