GLOR Youth Choir triumphs in North Wales International Youth Choir Competition
Last Saturday marked a significant milestone for the acclaimed GLOR Youth Choir based in Moate as they clinched the top prize at the prestigious North Wales International Youth Choir competition. The choir's stellar performance was awarded first place against choirs from Wales and England, for its dynamic execution of a technically demanding program, impressing the audience, and judges alike.
The Choir was established by Ciaran Brady, founder of the 'Academy of Music' in Tullamore, in 2008 as a training ground for young singers from across the Midlands who are in secondary school. Members work with sheet music, learn to sight read and receive vocal training with graded exams.
Hailing from a diversity of towns throughout the midlands, and united by their passion for choral music, GLOR Youth Choir showcased unparalleled talent and dedication throughout their performance. Their harmonious blend of voices, coupled with meticulous attention to detail, set them apart as true contenders in the Land of choral excellence.
Under the guidance of their conductor, Mr Brady, the choir delivered a captivating rendition of repertoire spanning classical to contemporary compositions. Their visit to Wales left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of witnessing their vibrant youthful performance.
The journey to victory was not without its musical challenges. Months of rigorous rehearsals, hours of extra practice, and unwavering commitment from every member of the choir culminated in a moment of triumph that will be etched in the memories of all involved.
In the aftermath of their resounding success, accolades poured in from all corners, praising GLOR Youth Choir for their exceptional achievement. Their ability to seamlessly navigate the complexities of the repertoire with finesse was a testament to their unwavering dedication to years of learning the craft of choral singing.
As they bask in the glory of their triumph, GLOR Youth Choir remains committed to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and sharing the gift of choral music with their audiences. Their victory in the North Wales International Youth Choir competition is a testament to their exceptional talent.
Both choirs rehearse on Thursdays at Moate Sports & Recreation Centre, and new members are always welcome.
