Tuesday thunderstorm warning issued for Offaly and Westmeath

For the second day in a row, a thunderstorm warning has been issued for counties including Offaly and Westmeath.

The yellow-level weather warning for today (Tuesday) was issued by Met Éireann at 10am and remains in effect until 9pm tonight.

It covers much of the Midlands and East of the country, taking in all of Leinster, as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

Met Éireann said there was potential for spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions, and poor visibility throughout the day.
