Families are an integral part of election counts, and Mucklagh Community Centre is a hive of activity this evening as family members of all ages are out in force to show their support for the many candidates still in the hunt for the remaining seats on Offaly County Council.

Outgoing Fine Gael Cllr, Liam Quinn,was elected on the 5th count, and waiting patiently while his votes were being counted were his two daughters, Alice (6) and Grace (5) along with his aunt, Monica Cully and his Granny, the legendary Bridget O'Brien, who is one of his staunchest supporters.

Cllr Liam Quinn is hoisted aloft by supporters as he celebrates his re-election to Offaly County Council this evening.
