Met Éireann issues weather warning for thunderstorms in Offaly

A yellow-level weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for five counties, including Offaly.

Met Éireann issued the warning for "scattered thunderstorms" at 1.05pm today (Monday).

The warning is due to remain in effect throughout the afternoon and early evening, until 8pm.

Met Eireann said there was potential for lightning strikes and spot flooding in the affected counties while the weather warning was in effect.

In addition to Offaly, the weather warning was issued for the counties of Clare, Laois, Limerick, and Tipperary.
