Offaly minor team named as injured Mayo duo miss out
As might have been expected, Offaly have named an unchanged team for their All-Ireland minor football quarter-final against Mayo tomorrow (Sunday).
Leinster champions Offaly will face defeated Connacht finalists Mayo at King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon (throw-in 3pm).
Managed by Shannonbridge's Roger Ryan, the Offaly team is captained by Rhode's Cian McNamee, who lifted the Fr Larry Murray Trophy following the memorable Leinster final win over Louth in Newbridge (2-20 to 3-14).
The freetaking prowess of goalkeeper Jack Ryan has been a major weapon in Offaly's armoury and the Doon player contributed eight points, consisting of four two-pointers, in the clash with Louth.
Mayo have also announced their starting XV for the clash against Offaly. Joint managers David Heaney and Tom Reilly have made three changes to the side that lost out to Roscommon in the Connacht decider (2-14 to 1-15).
Eoghan Dever, Fiachra O'Cinnseala and Rhys Neary come into the team, with Tony Carey (scorer of 1-4 in the Connacht final) and Cian May missing out through injury.
