Shannonbridge GAA raise €50k for new community gym
Shannonbridge GAA have raised a whopping €50,000 for the development of a brand new community gym facility.
The incredible sum was raised through the sale of tickets in person by players and those in the local community for the Shannonbridge GAA Community Gym Development Draw.
The club has now decided to take their fundraiser online to see if they can go the extra mile, with their final goal for the fundraising drive being €80,000.
Sharing the motivation behind the fundraiser, the club wrote: "Shannonbridge GAA club has been at the heart of the community for the past 50 years. We have flourished as a club both on and off the field throughout this time, achieving some massive milestones.
"Our club has three key aims. 1. To be ingrained in the fabric of our community. 2. To give the best opportunities to all of our players & members. 3. To provide the best facilities to our community.
"With these aims in mind, we have decided to erect and fit out the Shannonbridge GAA Community Gym to serve our players and the wider community.
Prizes for the draw inlcude prize money totalling €10,000, as well as All-Ireland Football Final tickets and a night's stay in a hotel for two lucky winners.
The club has extended their gratitude to all those who have bought tickets so far.
The closing date for the draw is Friday, July 11, at 9pm.
