Former Taoiseach to open new Edenderry FF office

Former Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, will perform the official opening of a new Edenderry office for Fianna Fáil next week.

The new office, which is located at Granary Court, will officially open its doors to the public for the first time on Friday of next week, July 18, at 5pm. Brian Cowen will be joined at the launch by his brother, Barry, now an MEP along with Deputy Tony McCormack, Cllr Claire Murray and other party members and supporters at the launch.

Speaking ahead of the event, Barry Cowen MEP said North Offaly deserves "strong, visible representation" and the opening of a new Fianna Fáil office in Edenderry demonstrates the party's commitment to delivering this. "It will be a base to ensure that local voices are heard at every level” he added.

Tony McCormack, who was elected as a first-time Fianna Fail TD for Offaly at last November's General Election, said the new Edenderry office is about "being there for people on the ground and working hard to address local priorities.” He described Edenderry and the North Offaly area as having "growing, dynamic communities" that need accessible support and advocacy.

Edenderry Area Cllr, Claire Murray, said the new party office will be "a welcoming space for everyone who wants to discuss ideas, raise concerns, or seek help.”

Light refreshments will be served at the official opening of the new Edenderry Fianna Fáil office and all are welcome to attend.
