Offaly artists invited to showcase work at National Ploughing Championships

Offaly artists are being invited to showcase their creativity at the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore next month.

The Offaly Arts Office, on behalf of the Arts Council, is calling for submissions from rural artists who wish to display and celebrate their creative work linked to agriculture, landscape, and community life at the event which takes place from September 16-18.

Creative enthusiasts who wish to showcase their talents must be resident or practicing in a rural area with work that is linked to agriculture, landscape or community life.

They must be available to exhibit at the National Ploughing Championships on one of the three September dates and present an engaging opportunity for those attending the event which can happen successfully in the space allowed and of interest to members of the public.

Interaction with members of the public and sharing of best practice is also one of the criteria required for those intending to apply to be part of the creative showcase.

The funding amount will be up to €1500 per day to cover all expenses including transport, subsistence, and preparation. If there is a group applying this can rise to €2000.

Rural artists who wish to apply for the creative showcase should send a short proposal on one PDF document to arts@offalycoco.ie with the closing date for proposals being August 12.
