Offaly Traveller Movement receive funding from BOI Community Fund

Offaly Traveller Movement (OTM), a Traveller led community development organisation working to achieve full equality for the Traveller community in County Offaly, is to be allocated a grant of €10,000 in the sixth year of the Community Fund, Bank of Ireland’s flagship community investment initiative delivered in partnership with Community Foundation Ireland.

OTM, based in Tullamore, will receive the €10,000 grant to support a range of programmes and services including: Accommodation; Education; Healthy eating; Mental health; and tackling social exclusion and poverty.

Commenting on the announcement, Marie Meehan, Director for Area West, Midlands and North East, Bank of Ireland said: “Since 2020, the Community Fund has been working with Community Foundation Ireland to help to make our society stronger by allocating funds to those in greatest need.

"I am very proud of the support we provide to the Offaly Traveller Movement, who do incredible work. We are focused on supporting projects that will broaden inclusion levels in our society, equipping people with the requisite skills, and providing opportunities for them to be connected through education, enterprise, or work.

"I would like to wish this Offaly-based initiative well as they continue in their endeavours.”

The current round of grants will bring the total value of Community Fund grants issued to €3 million for 307 community projects across the island of Ireland since 2020. Initiatives will receive grants starting from €10,000 all the way up to €80,000.
