Man with 'life-threatening injuries' after Offaly fire
A man, in his 50s, is being treated in hospital for 'life-threatening' injuries after a fire in Tullamore in the early hours of the morning.
The fire broke out in an apartment in Church Street at approximately 5am.
The man was rescued by members of Tullamore Fire Service before being transferred to the care of the National Ambulance Service.
It's understood he was treated by paramedics for serious burns, before being transferred to Tullamore hospital, and subsequently to St James’ Hospital, Dublin.
Gardai say no other injuries have been reported at this time.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and investigations are ongoing.
