Countdown continues to sold-out Tullamore Harriers half marathon
With 1,400 runners signed up, the BnM Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon is set for Saturday, August 30 - and the National, Leinster, and Offaly Half Marathon Championships will form part of the event. A fiercely competitive field will battle for team and individual honours across all age categories.
This is the second time Tullamore Harriers AC has been selected to host the National Championships, and every effort will be made to ensure the event runs with the smooth organisation and attention to detail that the club is known for. The club is deeply grateful for BnM’s continued sponsorship and proud to work alongside them to deliver one of the standout fixtures on the Irish running calendar.
With just over one week to go, preparations are in full swing to welcome runners from all over the country. The race will start at 10am from the Harriers Stadium, taking in a scenic route through Mucklagh, Killurin, and Cloonagh before finishing with an exciting lap of the stadium track.
Representatives from BnM - Brendan Kelly, Head of Commercial, and Stephen Mills, Senior Project Manager - met with members of the race committee at the club last week to formally launch the race.
Since its inaugural running in 2013, this race has grown in stature and popularity, becoming one of the most sought-after events on the athletics calendar. This year’s edition sold out in record time, highlighting the huge demand among runners to be part of this special day in Tullamore.
In addition to headline sponsor BnM, Tullamore Harriers AC is very appreciative of the continued support from Offaly County Council, Tullamore Gardaí, Offaly Civil Defence, sponsors, supporters and the many volunteers who make the event possible.
The race starts at 10am on the Charleville Road at the junction with Dillon Street. Runners will be on the course until approximately 1.30pm. For the safety of all participants, temporary road closures will be in place along the route, and the club thanks the public in advance for their cooperation.
“We look forward to welcoming athletes and supporters for another fantastic day of running in Tullamore,” said Tullamore Harriers AC.
