Athletics weekend to remember for Tullamore Harriers' Ally Duffy

Tullamore Harriers AC member Ally Duffy had an athletics weekend to remember achieving two podium placed finishes in race competitions at home and abroad.

Ally competed in the Cairn Community Games in Carlow on Saturday, the Moate Community School student claiming third place and a bronze medal in the 1,500 metres final.

The following day she was donning her running spikes once again, this time in Grangemouth Scotland where a powerful track performance saw her achieve a gold medal in the steeplechase event at the U17 Scottish Athletics Championships.

Her first time to compete in a steeplechase race, Ally claimed the gold medal with a time of 5:10.08.
