Offaly's Áine is runner-up in style competition at the Curragh

Áine Malone, from Edenderry in Offaly, was among the finalists of the Rosé & Runway style event, sponsored by Whispering Angel, at the Curragh Racecourse yesterday (Sunday).

The local woman was a runner-up in the competition, which was won by Eilis Dempsey from Corofin in Galway.

The event took place during the finale of the Irish Champions Festival today, which drew thousands of racegoers to the Curragh from across Ireland and beyond.

For winning the competition, Eilis Dempsey walks away with a luxurious two-night bed and breakfast stay in a golf-side bedroom at The Europe Hotel & Resort in Co Kerry including a decadent evening meal for two, two indulgent spa treatments at the world-class ESPA, and a bottle of Whispering Angel to share.

Eilis wore a Self Portrait dress that she bought from Vinted and paired it with a Hat from Millinery by Mairéad which was then dyed by Suzie Mahoney to match her dress. Her shoes were Valentino, and her bag was borrowed from her mum Bernie who was also in attendance.

Themed "a hint of blush," the fashion showcase was judged by stylist and TV personality Marietta Doran, fashion influencer Naomi Clarke (aka The Style Fairy), and Jeanni Mulder, fiancée of broadcaster and Olympian Greg O’Shea, who joined her for the day as guests of The Curragh and Horse Racing Ireland. The judges were wowed by the creativity and sophistication on display.

The next race meeting at The Curragh is the Autumn Racing Weekend on September 27 and 28, featuring The Goffs Million.
