Éire Grapple's Shane Dunne wins title fight in Newry
Killeigh mixed martial artist Shane Dunne continues to enhance his sporting prowess following a milestone achievement at the IÚR Fighting Championships in Newry, County Down.
A member of Tullamore's Éire Grapple gym, Dunne travelled to Newry at short notice and emerged victorious from his bout claiming the bantamweight title on offer in the process.
Dunne has now secured three MMA titles in two different weight divisions this year.
Dunne started his MMA journey Éire Grapple at the age of 13 entering the sport through the club’s youth programme 'Growing Gorillas' under the guidance of head coach Kieran Davern.
He has since developed into one of many rising talents to emerge from the gym, which has become known as a powerhouse for producing high-level fighters on the national stage.
Dunne’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing pace, his latest victory adding to a growing list of achievements that mark him as one of the most exciting prospects in Irish MMA today.
