Offaly Repair Cafe comes to Tullamore next week
“Don't Bin it. Fix it” is the advice from Offaly County Council's Climate Action team, who have organised a novel event in Tullamore Library on Saturday week where members of the public can have their broken or damaged household items repaired for free!
Among the items which can be repaired by the talented volunteers who will travel to Tullamore on Saturday, October 11 next, from a community-run organisation in Dublin called Tog Hackerspace, are toasters, lamps, kettles, clothing and accessories, small furniture items, electronics, toys and more.
The volunteers will be in Tullamore Library from 10am to 1pm, and the local authority has strongly advised all those who wish to have items repaired to book in advance in order to be sure of securing their place.
A very limited number of walk in slots will be available on the day, but bookings can be made through Eventbrite by scanning the QR code on the Offaly County Council Facebook page listing, which can be found here
This initiative is being hosted by Offaly County Council's Climate Action and Communty & Culture Team, with support from the Just Transition Officer and Offaly Libraries
