Offaly Older Person’s Network celebrate Positive Ageing Week with Rambling House

Offaly Older Person’s Network celebrated Positive Ageing Week with a lively and successful Rambling House event on Thursday, October 2, in Tullamore Rugby Club.

Attendees enjoyed an evening of music, song, stories, set dancing and craic. The event also served as a fundraiser for Family Carers Ireland carers in Offaly.

The evening began with Molly Buckley welcoming everyone on behalf of the Network. Alice Carroll was an excellent MC, introducing performers and encouraging audience participation in what was a true rambling house atmosphere.

Musicians Johnny Butterfield, Danny Guinan, Kieran Guinan, and sound engineer Dave Peyton kept the evening flowing with traditional tunes and songs familiar from rambling houses across Offaly.

Singers included Joe O’Shea, Seamus Barron, Oliver Kennedy, Mattie Corcoran, Rita Davis, Agnes Gorman, Mary Corcoran, and many others.
