Kinnitty native Fr Michael Walsh.

Local fundraiser to support Offaly priest's work in Zambia

A coffee morning fundraiser will be held in St Brendan’s Church, Birr, after each of the masses on Sunday, November 16, for Orphans and Vulnerables Organisation (OVO) Zambia.

This charity was set up in Ireland in 2006 to support the invaluable work of Fr Michael Walsh, a Spiritan priest and native of Kinnitty.

Fr Walsh has worked in Zambia and other African countries for well over 50 years. He will be present at the latter two masses (10.30 and 12 noon) in Birr on November 16.

Locals are being asked to please support this worthy cause generously.

Those who are unable to be present on the day are being invited to send their donation through the OVO website - ovozambia.com - where they will find all the necessary details.
