Gardai arrest man in connection with Roscrea car hijacking

Gardai investigating the hijacking of a car in Roscrea on Sunday evening last have arrested a man this morning (Wednesday).

The hijacking of a Blue Kia Sorento Estate took place in Roscrea shortly after 5pm on Sunday and prompted the Gardai to issue a public appeal for information on the whereabouts of the vehicle.

In an update this morning, Gardai said they had arrested a male in his 40s.

The man is currently being detained at a Garda Station in county Cork, under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardai added that their investigation into the incident was ongoing.
