Offaly lotto winner collects half a million euro!
A man from Offaly was celebrating this week after his online Lotto Plus 1 ticket bagged him a cool €500,000!
The man travelled to National Lottery headquarters today (Friday) to collect the prize which he won on Wednesday, August 15.
A statement from the National Lottery said the man only found out about the big win when he checked his emails the morning after the draw.
"I actually checked my online account the previous night and my balance hadn’t changed so I just assumed that I hadn’t won anything.
"My jaw nearly hit the floor when I checked my email in work the following morning!" he said.
The local man's win was the biggest of six claimed at National Lottery headquarters today.
The six lucky winners collected a combined €914,023 in prizes.
